We are a branch group of the international
organization called "The Society for
Creative Anachronism" (SCA). We enjoy
researching and re-creating the medieval
time period from 600 ce to 1600 ce. Our

Spring is here and the Barony of Rivenoak is celebrating
in high style!!! We're pulling out all our tricks for a fun filled
afternoon that will include, but not be limited to,
some serious fighting, both hardsuit and rapier.
Some silly fighting, a pilgrimage to the Fountain of Trivia,
some dancing, lots of eating,... munch... munch.. munch.
Some string games and some chair games.
But most of all SOME EGG GAMES!!!

There will be egg toss, eggs on spoons, eggs in buckets, eggs on strings,
fighters with eggs, and most wonderous of all (drum roll please)...
AN EGG HUNT for children AND adults in honor of Queen Catherine.
(Not to be confused with the traditional egg hunt sometimes
pursued by small beings in pastel colors carrying ribboned baskets. :-)
NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!! This egg hunt will be in traditional Rivenoakie style!
You don't know what that means ??? Then come join us and have a fun filled
day with lots of your friends. Children five (5) and under may bring baskets
for the hunt...BUT all you BIG and MIDDLING size folks will just have to
muddle along with our Rivenoakie rukes ....I mean rules.
We'll have a groaning board in mid- afternoon, so please bring something
to share. Did I mention there will be EGGS?

Site Info: Five Mile Park in beautiful Bidwell Park is a wonderfull
lawn area encircled by trees just perfect for fighting, seeking eggs
and lounging about on ground blankets while your significant other
feeds you EGGGGGS!!! Site opens at 10:AM and closes at dusk.

Site fee: $3.00 for members, $3.00 non-members surcharge.
Clildren 12 and under $2.00. Children 5 and under free.

Directions:
Take Hwy 99 to Chico. In Chico Hwy 99 intersects Hwy 32.
Turn East on Hwy 32 and go to Bruce Road (about one mile) and
turn left (north). Bruce Rd turns into Manzanita. At the corner of
Manzanita and Centennial turn right. The entrance to Five Mile Park
will be about one mile further on your left. Look for SCA signs.
